Objetivo. El presente manual de operación tiene como objeto regular la organización y operación de la Revista de la Sociedad Colombiana de Oftalmología. 

 

Definiciones. Para los efectos del presente manual de operaciones, se entenderá por:

- SOCOFTAL: Sociedad Colombiana de Oftalmología

- Editorial: Publicaciones Permanyer 

- Revista: Revista de la Sociedad Colombiana de Oftalmología

 

Términos generales

• Los siguientes criterios son de seguimiento obligatorio para toda persona involucrada en el funcionamiento de la Revista, autores y revisores pares. 

• La SOCOFTAL es propietaria de la Revista, de los derechos de la marca comercial y de los derechos de autor correspondientes.

• Durante la vigencia del convenio suscrito entre la SOCOFTAL y la Editorial, esta última tiene los derechos completos y exclusivos de publicación de la Revista. 

• Los derechos de marca comercial y los derechos de autor propiedad de la SOCOFTAL, deberán ser reconocidos en una leyenda por la Editorial encargada de la publicación de la Revista; de igual manera se anunciará que es una publicación oficial de la SOCOFTAL. 

• La Revista se publica semestralmente, en formato online, y acepta artículos en español e inglés. 

• El contenido de la Revista estará disponible en acceso abierto a la comunidad científica, sin costo para autores ni para lectores. 

• Los Editores Asociados serán asignados por el Editor en jefe.

• Los miembros del Comité Editorial de la Revista se seleccionarán con base en su experiencia y posición dentro de su ámbito científico, conocimiento del tema y consideración del alcance geográfico, actual o previsto, de la disciplina científica de la revista.  

 

Composición: 

• El personal de la Revista está compuesto por: 1 Editor en jefe y 10 Editores Asociados.

• El Editor en jefe deberá tener experiencia en el campo editorial y será responsable de implementar las mejores prácticas editoriales en el proceso de evaluación científica y edición de los manuscritos recibidos. De la misma manera, deberá velar por la eficacia y agilidad de los procesos editoriales, identificando riesgos e implementando planes de mejora cuando así considere.

• Los Editores Asociados deben tener experiencia editorial. Su trabajo es apoyar al Editor en jefe en todas sus funciones, evaluar los manuscritos presentados asociados a su área temática, asignación de los revisores que juzgue óptimos de acuerdo con sus especialidades, así como cualquier otra función que le sea asignada.

Objective. The purpose of this operating manual is to regulate the organization and operation of Revista de la Sociedad Colombiana de Oftalmología.

 

Definitions. The following abbreviations are included in this Operations Manual:

- SOCOFTAL: Sociedad Colombiana de Oftalmología

- Publisher: Publicaciones Permanyer 

- Journal: Revista de la Sociedad Colombiana de Oftalmología

 

General Terms:

• These provisions shall be mandatory for everybody involved in the functioning of the Journal, authors, and peer reviewers alike. 

• The SOCOFTAL is the proprietor of the Journal, of the rights of the registered trademark, and the corresponding copyrights.

• During the agreement between SOCOFTAL and the Publisher, the latter holds all rights regarding the publication of the Journal. 

• Both the trademark and copyrights owned by the SOCOFTAL should be acknowledged in writing by the Publisher. In addition, the Publisher will disclaim that the Journal is the official publication of SOCOFTAL.

• The Journal is published twice a year, in online format, and accepts articles in Spanish and English.

• The content of the Journal will be available as open access to the scientific community, at no expense for the authors or the readers. 

• The Associate Editors will be appointed by the Editor-in-Chief.

• The members of the Journal’s Editorial Board will be selected based on their experience and position within their scientific discipline, their knowledge on the subject, and their understanding of the current or anticipated geographical scope of the Journal’s scientific discipline.  

 

Composition 

• The Journal’s personnel consist of 1 Editor-in-Chief and 10 Associate Editors.

• The Editor-in-Chief should have experience in the editorial field and will be responsible for implementing the best editorial practices in the process scientific evaluation, and editing, of the manuscripts submitted. Moreover, they will care for the efficiency and agility of the editorial processes, identifying risks, and implementing improvement plans if it need be.  

• The Associate Editors must have editorial experience. Their job is to support the Editor-in-Chief in all their functions, evaluate manuscripts associated with their subject/matter field, as well any other functions they may be assigned to.
